Chastek, who was born in St. Maries, died last Thursday. She was 88. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and attended Marylhurst Holy Names College in Oregon. In 1939, she married Chester Chastek.

He died in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Esposito of Spokane; five sons, Lawrence, Michael, Patrick and Thomas Chastek, all of Spokane, and Gary Chastek of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Clare Nuns. Helen Gustin SPOKANE Funeral for Helen Mae Gustin, who was born at the family home near Thornton, will be today at 1 p.m. at the Malden Congregational Church, with vault interment to follow at the Pine City Cemetery.

Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gustin died Monday. She was 92. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Rosalia, graduating from Pine City High School.

She attended Kinman Business School for a short time before moving to Wenatchee and working at J.C. Penney. She married Alex Gustin in Asotin County in 1932. They lived with his parents on the family ranch near Pine City until moving into their own home in 1937. They farmed most of their lives around Pine City and in 1973 sold the farm and moved to Rosalia.

Her husband died in 1990 and Mrs. Gustin moved to Colfax. She had lived in Spokane for the last year. Mrs. Gustin was active in the Malden Congregational Church and was a member of the Exzella Club and a bridge club.

She also was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. Survivors include four children, JoAnne Tewell of Redlands, Sally Schrenk of Spokane, Alex Gustin of LaConner, and Judi Overstreet of Colfax; a brother, James Woodward of Rosalia; 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Malden Congregational Church. Forrest 'Woody' Schroeder SPOKANE Private service with military honors was Sept.

17 for Forrest "Woody" Gordon Schroeder, 71, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Mr. Schroeder, who was born in Granton, died Sept. 11. He was a resident of the Spokane area for 33 years.

He graduated from New Lisbon (Wis.) High School in 1951 and married Betty Bohm in 1956. He attended the University of Wisconsin and in 1978 graduated from Spokane Community College. Mr. Schroeder served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War as a pilot. He retired from the Air Force in 1974 after 20 years of service, achieving the rank of major.

Mr. Schroeder was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and his hobbies included small engine repair, camping, fishing and traveling. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Schroeder of Copperas Cove, Texas; three daughters, Patricia Strieff of Cheney, Lindi Basler of Spokane and Angela Bleeker of Greenacres; three brothers, Darrell Schroeder of Mequon, Stan Schroeder of Perham, and Fred Schroeder of Rocklin, and 11 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Karen Price COEUR D'ALENE Memorial service for Karen S.

Price, 49, will be at a later date. Miss Price, who was born in Beaver Falls, died Saturday. She attended school in Beaver Falls, Anderson, and Fairborn, Ohio, and later moved to Coeur d'Alene. Miss Price was known at the North Idaho Cancer as "The Hat Lady." Survivors include her mother, Mary Price; a brother, Bob; and special friend, B.J. Yuknawicz.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 S. 11th Suite Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814. Mary Kinsel BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. Visitation for Mary P. Kinsel, 85, will be today from 3 to 7 p.m.

at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene. Memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements. Mrs.

Kinsel, who was born in Konontz, died Sept. 21. She graduated from high school in Canyon City, Colo. In 1945 she married Bill Kinsel, and in 1947 they settled in Spokane. Mrs.

Kinsel drove a city bus in Portland prior to her move to Spokane. She then worked for J.C. Penney and Wilsons Interiors as a seamstress for window treatments. She was a charter member of the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Valley Hospital and Medical Center Auxiliary. Her husband died in 2001.

In 2002 she moved to Bakersfield. Survivors include two sons, William Deibert of and Larry Kinsel of Bakersfield; a sister, Dorothy Rodgers of Springfield, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene. Judith Clarke POST FALLS Private family service for Judith E. Clarke, 52, is planned.

English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Clarke, who was born in Philadelphia, died Tuesday. She received an associates degree from Arapaho Community College in Littleton, and then received her bachelors and masters degrees from Regis University in Denver. Recently she had been working toward her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She married Richard Duwe in 2000. She moved to Post Falls from Littleton in 2001 and served as the dean at ITT Technical Institute in Spokane. Survivors include her husband; four sons, David and Gary Clarke, both of Post Falls, James Clarke of Hayden, Idaho, and Jason Clarke of Littleton; a sister, Nancy Smith; and six grandchildren. Timothy Butcher GILLETTE, WYO. Memorial service for Timothy James Butcher, 25, will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Bible Church. Mr. Butcher, a former longtime resident of the Spokane area, died Sept.

21. He was born on Barksdale Air Force Base near Shreveport, and moved with his family to Spokane in 1980. He spent his childhood in Spokane and graduated from East Valley, High School in 1997. He attended Spokane Community College in 1999 and 2000. Last September, Mr.

Butcher moved to Gillette to live and work with his uncle, Ed Badger. He worked for Marta Track Contractors building and maintaining railroad tracks, mostly in coal mines. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, camping, shooting, boating and snowboarding. He was a member of Faith Bible Church. Survivors include his parents, Joe and Jackie Butcher; two sisters, Katie and Hannah Butcher; and a brother, Philip Butcher, all of Spokane.

Carol (Marley) Bloom SANDPOINT Visitation for Carol (Marley) Bloom, 62, will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Mrs.

Bloom, who was born in Sandpoint, died Saturday. She grew up in Sandpoint and graduated from high school there. In 1958 she married Ralph Bloom. Mrs. Bloom enjoyed knitting, baking, roses, playing piano and her 1972 Dodge Charger.

She also liked baseball and was a Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Ralph; two daughters, Coulette Kuespert of Spokane Valley and Mollie Tenney of Sandpoint; her mother, Lily Marley of Sandpoint; two sisters, Nancy Saasen of Tacoma and Janet Heth of Bremerton; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Elizabeth Lambert SPOKANE Service for Elizabeth "Betty" Charlotte (Boothe) Lambert, 94, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lambert, who died Friday, was born in Okanogan, Wash. She lived in several places, Okanogan; Seattle; Anchorage, Alaska; Hemet, Pullman; Grand Coulee and Spokane. Mrs. Lambert worked as a bookkeeper at an excavating business and was active in church and volunteer work.

She enjoyed the wilderness, creating craft projects and gardening She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Godfrey and Norman Lambert. Survivors include a daughter, Carole Godfrey Swensen of Spokane; a sister, Ethel Boothe of Carson City, a brother, James Boothe of Ocean City, N.J.; two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lilac Blind Foundation. Salina Rabideaux ROMNEY, W.VA. Memorial service for Salina Adeline Locke Rabideaux, 88, will be Saturday at 2 p.m.

at McKee Funeral Home in Augusta, W.Va. Mrs. Rabideaux, a former longtime resident of Spokane, died Sept. 22. She was born in Cut Bank, Mont.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1934 and in 1937 married Norman Rabideaux. Mrs. Rabideaux worked as an aide at Deaconess Hospital and later as a housekeeper at Rockwood Manor. Her husband died in 1988. She moved to Romney earlier this year.

Survivors include two daughters, Karensue Ware of Romney and Shecanaiah Travis of DesMoines, N.M.; a son, Robert Rabideaux of Veradale; 13 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ruben Neiffer SPOKANE No service will be held for Ruben Neiffer, 76. Neptune Society is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Neiffer, a 20-year resident of Spokane, died Sept.

18. He was born in Hosmer, S.D. He was a bartender for 30 years and had also worked in the lawn care industry. Mr. Neiffer was a member of the Eagles and Elks lodges, and his hobbies included cooking and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy. Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Merwin of Spokane, Sandy Lennon of Pahrump, and Kay Valente of Post Falls; two sons, Steve Neiffer of Spokane and Kim Neiffer of Portland; a sister, Tillie Steffes of Lewiston; eight grandchildren and eight great andchildren. Frederick Cobb Sr. SPOKANE No service will be held for Frederick P. Cobb 88.

Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cobb, who died Sept. 21, was born in Petersburg, Va. He worked as a machinist at Messinger Bearing Inc.

in Philadelphia for 42 years and in 1983 moved to Spokane. His wife of 62 years, Reva, died in 2003. Survivors include a son, Frederick Cobb, Jr. of Feasterville, a daughter, Nancy Warner of Colbert; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Seger, a lifelong resident of Spokane, died Friday. attended schools in Spokane and graduated in 2001 from Medical Lake High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowboarding and riding his horse Girlie. Survivors include a daughter, Cheyanna Wing-Seger of Spokane; his parents, John and Heidi Seger of Medical Lake; two brothers, John Seger of Brier, and James Seger of Houston; a sister, Shastina Seger of Medical Lake; and his grandfather, Gene Wilson of Spokane. Seth Seger SPOKANE Frances (Riggs) Vecchio SPOKANE Funeral for Frances Irene (Riggs) Vecchio, a retired high school English teacher, will be today at 2 p.m.

at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Vecchio, who died Sunday, was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 85. She was a resident of the Spokane area for 58 years and had resided at The Waterford since 1993.

She graduated from Texas State College for Women in 1941, and in 1945 she married Frank Vecchio. Mrs. Vecchio taught English at Lewis and Clark High School from 1947 until her retirement in 1972. Her husband died in 2000. Survivors include cousins Virginia Stevenson and Kathleen Woodard, both of Texas.

Robert Hawk SPOKANE Graveside service for Robert G. "Jerry" Hawk, 71, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park. Community Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements. Mr.

Hawk died Sept. 22. A lifelong Spokane resident, he graduated from Rogers High School and served in the Korean War. Mr. Hawk worked for the Washington Air National Guard for 30 years and was a longtime member of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, William of Cincinnati and Robert Hawk HI of Hinton, and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Kevin Jerred DEER PARK Memorial service for Kevin Joseph Jerred, 41, will be today at 11 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church. Lauer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jerred died Saturday. Born in Spokane, he grew up in Mead and in 1981 graduated from Mead High School. He was employed as a construction superintendent with Walker Construction Co. in Spokane.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Karen; two children, Kyle and Kody Jerred, both at the home; his father, a sister and two brothers. Kyle Lewis POST FALLS Service for Kyle Robert Lewis, 35, was Wednesday at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Mr. Lewis, who was born in Rochester, N.Y., died last Thursday. He settled in Coeur d'Alene in 2001 and married Stacy Haskew that year.
